Don't think I wouldn't if I had a couple of tanks of gas and a week off work.  I would love to get my claws into some of that turritella agate out there.  Would like to make a deal for those darned tires, too.

I'll get some pretty soon, Clayton.  I just bust em  up anyway so I drive em until they die.  They have  used out here, too but they price them pretty high for used.  Last time I put a whole set of used on they only cost 100 for all four and they were in great shape and the rubber was fairly new.  Out here it's 40 bucks a tire and they aren't half as nice.  One of the sacrifices ya make to live in paradise, I guess.  I am keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal though So I'll have new tires by the time I get to take any long trips again.   Prineville is only 17 miles from here.  I can go to the reservoir on 3 gallons of gas round trip  ;D   and I have several hundred miles left on these, so I'm not worried yet.

I hate the idea of buying something right now when I'll be able to afford something twice as good by this time next month.

Clyde,

I'd hoped to invite myself to join you in WY but for now we are stuck in SW CO awaiting parts to fix the motorhome.  I'm guessing you will be there only another week so I'll have to join you another time.  Hope you have good hunting.

Bob - I didn't see that either!   Did you dig it yourself or trade/buy it?

The only fires I heard of were in Estes.  I have a friend who was waiting for an evac alert there.  248 homes lost the last I heard.   It's tragic - Estes is soooooo beautiful.  I'm hoping that the only thing lost was the newer developments that they squeezed in and none of the old town.

I'm thinking fires might just make Denny feel like he's back in TX again.

Luckily I'm on the other side of the state but what they are going through around Colorado Springs sounds terrible.  To the best of my knowledge, sand doesn't catch on fire (it already did a few million years ago) and I may be far enough away from forests to be safe.
